About this route
Dubrovnik → Hvar Town
The transfer from Dubrovnik to Hvar Town is one of the great coastal journeys on the Adriatic — a direct sea route that connects the coast’s two most celebrated destinations without touching a road. Departing from the Old Harbour beneath Dubrovnik’s city walls, the crossing heads north-west through the Pelješac channel and the islands of inner Dalmatia before arriving at Hvar Town harbour in around three and a half hours.
The route passes through some of the most dramatic scenery on the Croatian coast. The Elafiti islands fall behind as you leave Dubrovnik, and the Pelješac peninsula narrows into view to the north — a long limestone ridge separating the open sea from the Neretva valley. Optional stops at Korčula Town or the wine villages of Pelješac can be added for guests who want to break the journey and explore.
The final approach into Hvar Town brings you around the headland where the Pakleni islands scatter across the water and the cathedral bell tower appears above the harbour walls. We dock at Hvar Town’s main waterfront, putting you at the centre of the island’s social scene from the moment you step ashore.
This transfer is most popular with guests relocating between the two cities as part of a longer Croatian itinerary — ending a few days in Dubrovnik and beginning island time in Hvar, or vice versa. Every transfer is private, fully flexible on timing, and crewed by an experienced PROMARE skipper.
