Vis
Croatia's most remote island and the legendary Blue Cave of Biševo
Why visit
Why Vis by Boat?
Vis is the most remote inhabited island in Croatia and arguably the most authentic. Once a closed Yugoslav military base, it was only opened to tourists in 1989, and its relative isolation has preserved a wild, unspoiled character that more accessible islands have lost. The nearby island of Biševo is home to the famous Modra Špilja (Blue Cave) — a natural sea cave where refracted sunlight turns the water a glowing electric blue. A full-day charter to Vis from Makarska is a truly special experience that combines the Blue Cave, hidden bays, and excellent local food.

Access to the Blue Cave is by small wooden motorboat only — this is standard for all visitors. Our speedboat anchors nearby and a local guide takes you inside. Entry tickets are purchased on-site.
The blue glow is most vivid between 11am and noon when the sun is at the right angle to refract through the underwater opening. We time our arrival accordingly.
Yes — our Blue Cave & Vis private tour combines both the cave and Vis Town or Stiniva Cove in a single full-day itinerary.
The cave can be closed in rough weather or strong swells. We always check conditions the morning of the tour and will notify you if there is any issue.
